Nordik Crying Lamb is a predator game call designed to produce a realistic injured or distressed lamb sound. This highly emotional sound is extremely effective on predators that have specialised in hunting sheep and goats and see them as an easy meal.
The call features a precisely tuned reed and sound chamber that allow you to create the characteristic Baaaaaa tone that predators instantly recognise. By adjusting the way you blow and how you open your hand in front of the sound chamber, you can easily control volume, intensity and expression – from softer cries to long-reaching calls in open terrain.
Compact and weather resistant, Nordik Crying Lamb is suitable for year-round predator hunting – from cold winter nights to foggy mornings around pastures. It is ideal for calling foxes, jackals and other predators that regularly patrol sheep and goat areas.
???? Video overview
In this video you can hear Nordik Crying Lamb in action and see how to produce convincing lamb distress sounds and calling sequences for fox and other predators.
How to use the Nordik Crying Lamb
Grip and hand position: Hold the call with your right hand and cup your left hand tightly over the sound chamber so it is closed. Use the fleshy part of your palm just below the fingers to seal the opening and build air pressure inside the call.
Creating the “Baaaaa” sound: Take a deep breath and just as you start to blow, release your left hand slightly and push air into the call. You want to create a short overpressure to put the “B” into Baaaaa – this makes the sound sharp, desperate and very realistic.
Vibrato and volume control: Once you master the basic tone, you can add a gentle vibrato during exhalation for a more lifelike, trembling cry. The volume is controlled both by how hard you blow and how far you open your left hand. Practice and listen for the point where the sound starts to break and simply back off slightly from that limit.

Stand planning and calling sequences
Open fields:
Call intensively for 15–20 seconds, then stay silent for 2–3 minutes.
Repeat this pattern for about 20–30 minutes on each stand. In open country the sound carries far,
and predators may come from a long distance.
Smaller fields and forested areas:
Call for 15–20 seconds, then keep quiet for 5–6 minutes.
Repeat for around 15–20 minutes on each stand. In tighter terrain predators are often closer,
so longer pauses feel more natural and avoid overcalling the area.
